What's New with amiibo in Treasure Trove
What’s up, peat pals? It’s time to dish the dirt about fairies and toys!
What’s up, peat pals? It’s time to dish the dirt about fairies and toys! Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove has a lot of new features: Specter of Torment, new challenges, Sound Test, Body Swap, Co-op…you’ve heard about all of them except the new amiibo functionality!
Shovel Knight amiibo on Switch!
The Shovel Knight amiibo is supported in both Treasure Trove and Specter of Torment on Switch! In Shovel Knight’s campaign, you’ll be able to access Custom Knight and Challenges just like before and, since your Custom Knight is saved to the amiibo, your custom character and levels will also carry over on Switch. The biggest difference is that you’ll no longer need to scan to activate co-op!
Introducing Madame Meeber and the Fairy of Shovelry!
That’s all very well and good, but… what does it do in Specter Knight’s campaign? And now that we think about it… it doesn’t do anything for Plague Knight either! Well, that just wouldn’t do! How could we squeeze a little more shovel love out of the amiibo?
Boopity Boo! Introducing Madame Meeber, summoner of fairies and fun! This affable conjurer can be found in the Village, Potionarium, and even the Tower of Fate! If you speak with her and scan your Shovel Knight amiibo, she will summon a flying friend for you: the Fairy of Shovelry!!
The Fairy of Shovelry will accompany Shovel Knight, Plague Knight, or even Specter Knight on their respective adventures! Whether the little scamp is digging for treasure, trying to battle enemies, or cheering along with your victories, he is guaranteed to be delightful. Don’t worry, he won’t get in your way or mess with your gameplay! But things sure are less lonely with the Fairy of Shovelry around!
Boopity Boo! Wasn’t that cool! We hope you enjoy the new functionality of the Shovel Knight amiibo, co-op for everyone, and all of the amazing content we have planned for Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove! The Treasure Trove update is arriving on Nintendo 3DS and Wii U this April too, which means you’ll be able to befriend the Spirit of Shovelry on all Nintendo platforms!
