Ah I see, well I respect your opinion & dislikes, I personally liked everything about the game myself.

I found Plague Knight's controls to be fine after the first few levels, personally. I recommend buying the Float Burst ASAP, it's great for learning his controls and once you've got them mastered, you can switch back to the normal burst and learn to chain bomb bursts consecutively. Lets you fly over almost every room, mini-boss, and etc.

To think you would've just skipped Shovel Knight as a whole since the very beginning. ._.

The difficulty in this game isn't even that hard though, and certainly not cheap. Everything has patterns and tells. any damage you take or death is your own fault really

Half the enemies in the game are in the air. Shovel Knight is best equipped to attack things on the ground. The tricky platforming combined with the enemies is what always felt cheap to me.

Knockback and almost every complaint you have exist in the games that this is based off of. All of the old NES games are supposed to be hard. Saying that this game is harder than the old platformers of my time is a joke. Play Castlevania 1 or 3. Try Mega Man, almost any of them, or Ninja Gaiden. Shovel Knights has it's hard parts, but I beat the game without too much trouble.

I've played the first Castlevania and Mega Man 2. I haven't beaten them because I'm not motivated to. The knockback in Shovel Knight is worse.
I'm not saying Shovel Knight is impossible to beat. I beat the game myself, after all. I'm just saying that I thought the game's challenging moments were more annoying than fun.

And I never said Shovel Knight was harder than any NES game. It's a hard game, but not the hardest.
Every time I say what I think about this game, people attack me with worthless facts.
The reason I still don't like this game is because facts don't affect my opinion on a personal experience.
The way YOU played this game is NOT the same way I did.

Ok man. There's no need to get offended. Presenting an argument isn't an attack. If you don't want to hear dissenting opinions, perhaps the shovel knight page isn't the best place to have the discussion...

It wasn't meant as an attack. Also, your opinion is yours to have. When you post it online anywhere, you are sharing your opinion and therefore will recieve other opinions in turn.
If I wanted to attack you, I would have brought up the fact that the controls in this game are amazingly tight, many people have confirmed this. Your opinion is overruled by this fact.

SHOVEL KNIGHT HAS BEST MUSIC EVAR!!!

Also dooveed, are you just trying to get attention or actually express real polite dislike for this game? It seems to me you're just putting this up so you can say that everyones opressing you and feel good about yourself in the worst kind of way. I'm sorry if I offended you, but that is my honest opinion.

I legitimately dislike Shovel Knight.

The knockback will always bother me, but I've learned to live with it. As for the giant fish in Treasure Knight's level, that's another story...I ended up rage quitting on that yesterday.

I thought it was obvious that 'Plague Knight' was based off a 'Plague Doctor'.
09/23/2015 12:56 PM
Propeller Knight is a NIGHTMARE as Plague Knight. I will admit that. Then there's this one jump in the first level...
09/23/2015 1:16 PM
@Logan: I actually found Propeller Knight's stage to be a joke as Plague Knight, interestingly. Vat + Float Burst = skip over every segment. Feels kinda good after the abomination that is the Shovel Knight variant of that stage.

I'm having a hard time controlling Plague Knight too. Upgrading to the Float Burst has really helped me though. The game can be tough but it's really not NES game tough.

You mentioned somewhere that the music is annoying? That's fine. No judgements. But I'm wondering if it's just because you're not a fan of NES music, which is also fine. But if you'd be willing to give the music another shot, than you can listen to the cover by Epic Game Music.

I like NES soundtracks because the songs are written well and sound great. I don't like this game's soundtrack because, despite being well-written by a talented guy, the notes go way too high for their own good. I personally think a high-pitched beeping sound is annoying, not musical.
